Setting new trends for the new year
There will definitely be a continuation of the rustic trend we all love but this time with a little added glamour. Think rustic country mansion rather than the more minimalist look of 2010.
Team the Tegan or Earlston range with rustic brown leather chairs like the Blandford or Hector (all available from Barker and Stonehouse) to create the perfect homely look.

Hide AdAdd cream and gold accessories to achieve the glamour and use bold shades such as dark sapphire blue or dark grey to create
drama. The great thing about this look is that it is a development of a trend so there's no need for a complete overhaul of your home. A few fresh coats of paint and some glitzy new accessories should do the trick.
Jewel colours are also set to be big news. I've already mentioned sapphire blue but ruby red, emerald green and amethyst are all set to be huge. I love these colours as they are very decisive and warm. Team with lots of silver or gold for a stunning look.
Barker and Stonehouse have plenty of gorgeous accessories which will work perfectly. From the beautiful ginger jar in sleek silver to the Lucie glassware range.

Hide AdWallpaper will play a big role in 2011. It's definitely the way to go if you want to make a style statement. Prints this year will be big and bold and the trends to look out for will be '70s' inspired or floral.
If you're not sure about wallpaper, then opt for a rug with the same stylish qualities as a nod to the trend.
For those of you who love to be a little different, the English eccentric look is still going strong. The flags are toned down a little but not gone. Instead, use oversized accessories like the giant chess pieces, from Barker and Stonehouse, teamed with unusual shapes and plenty of colour.
