Across the year, the team saw a 13 per cent, or £200,000, increase in turnover, after receiving instructions on 216 matters. The corporate team also won 100 new clients. The team provided advice in connection with a number of major deals including the sale of IT and software company, Technology Forge and a chain of instructions to act on the sale of insurance brokers in South Yorkshire by The Clear Group, backed by global investment bank, Goldman Sachs.

Nigel Hoyle, head of corporate law at Blacks Solicitors, said: “I am extremely proud of the team for their hard work which is reflected in the significant number of transactions and growth of turnover that we have generated over the last financial year.

The lawyer Pete Bott returned to the firm in October 2022 to head up the firm’s new music law arm. Alex Hall and Hayley Blackburn were also promoted to the roles of senior associate and associate respectively in the corporate team over the last year.

Blacks Solicitors, which is based in Leeds, is a 28 partner firm providing a range of legal services to commercial and private clients across the UK.
