She said: “ I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had as a result of my apprenticeship and am proud to work for a business which nurtures young talent to develop their careers.

“When I finished my A-Levels, I accepted a position at Edinburgh university. But after a few months I knew the course wasn’t for me and moved back home. At that point I wasn’t quite sure where my career would take me, but having seen a vacancy for an apprentice in the risk management team at Leeds Building Society I decided to take the opportunity and I have never looked back.

The new apprentices will join the Society in September.
