Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards deadline looms
Businesses have until Friday, October 14, to enter the Yorkshire Post’s prestigious tourism awards.
From country pubs to grand events, dog friendly cafés to green businesses, the range of categories cover every sector of Yorkshire’s tourism industry, for businesses as diverse and varied as the region itself.
Businesses can self-nominate online in categories including:
- B&B or Guest House of the Year
- Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award
- Best Self-Catering Accommodation Award
- Kids First Award
- Hotel of the Year
- Taste Award
- Event of the Year
- Holiday Park or Campsite of the Year
- Sustainable Tourism Award
- Newcomer of the Year
- Dog Friendly Accommodation or Attraction of the Year
- Best Pub or Brewery Award
- Outstanding Customer Service Award
- Tourist Attraction of the Year
- Outstanding Contribution to Tourism
And there’s a People’s Choice Award for the Best Yorkshire Experience, where you can nominate your favourite tourist attraction or venue in the region.
Business nominations
Helen Lambert, Events Manager, said: “After a tough few years for the tourism industry we are delighted to be back and celebrating the brightest and best in Yorkshire.
“This is a marvellous place for tourists, with sweeping dales, stunning coast lines, history, culture and night life – Yorkshire really is marvellous for all ages, and we want every firm involved in the tourism industry to take part.
“Our judges will carefully scrutinise every entry and judge it on its merits, so whether you run a small, new firm or one of the oldest and most established brands, there is a category to suit you.”
People’s Choice
New for 2022 is the People’s Choice Award, which everyone can take part in.
Helen added: “We’ve all got our favourite spot or spots in Yorkshire. If there’s somewhere you treasure, make sure they get their chance to shine by nominating them for a People’s Choice Award.”

The big event
The big reveal takes place at a glamorous black-tie event on Monday, December 5, at Headingley Stadium, Leeds. Rich Williams – broadcaster, presenter, host and author – will head up a stunning night with sponsors, judges and nominees, when the stars of the Yorkshire tourism industry will be revealed.
