Person found dead on railway track between Leeds and Normanton
British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the line shortly after 5am this morning (Monday) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics were also called but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations are now underway to find out what happened.

Hide AdTrains between Wakefield and Leeds were disrupted this morning while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A BTP spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to the line in Wakefield shortly after 5am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify them and establish the full circumstances behind their death."

Hide AdA statement on the National Rail website said: "Trains can now run normally between Wakefield Kirkgate and Leeds via Castleford after the emergency services were required to deal with an incident near the railway between Normanton and Leeds."
