York police officer assaulted as Rotherham police investigating second officer attack renew appeal
The assault on the North Yorkshire Police officer comes as South Yorkshire Police released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after one of their officers were assaulted outside a Rotherham nightclub last month.
The York incident took place in the Blake Street and St Helen’s Square area of the city centre at around 4.45am on Sunday.

Hide AdA 28-year-old man from York has been charged with assaulting a 29-year-old Harrogate man and the male police officer.
He has been bailed to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on October 5.
A 39-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the same incident. He received an adult caution for obstructing the police.
Both victims suffered facial injuries which required medical treatment.

Hide AdThe Rotherham attack took place at around 2.20am on Saturday, August 22.
Police were called to reports of an assault outside a nightclub in Ship Hill, near to The Loft nightclub.
A number of men are believed to have been fighting and, when officers tried to intervene, it is alleged that one man punched an officer several times before fleeing the scene.
South Yorkshire Police said the 51-year-old officer sustained head injuries.

Hide AdThree men have received cautions for public order offences in connection with the incident.
Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe could hold vital information and would urge anyone that can help with enquiries to come forward.
