Leeds nostalgia: Roll call for former pupils of soon-to-close 300-year-old Yorkshire school
At present the school has just 12 pupils. Without entering into the politics of how that came about and whether it could have been avoided, the school contacted us this week to ask that we put out an appeal to help find the oldest former pupil.
Christine Eccleston, administrator, said: “Horton School is due to close at the end of this term. Prior to that we intend to have an exhibition about the history of this 300 year old establishment.

She added: “We would also like to advertise the exhibition which will be on from July 17 to 21 and will be open to the public from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on each of those days.”
The school was founded in 1725 and has served generations of Yorkshire families down the years.
