Man arrested over assault on baby girl
The girl, described by police as “very, very young” and locally as two months old, was taken to hospital for treatment and further tests.
A man, in his 20s, was arrested after police received reports of the incident at an address on Bellbrooke Grove in Harehills, Leeds, on Monday evening.

Hide AdThe baby sustained “superficial injuries”, police have confirmed.
Last night the man remained in custody. A police cordon put up in Bellbooke Grove by forensic teams stayed in place yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said: “There was a report that a baby had been assaulted. Officers and the police helicopter attended and a man was arrested in connection with the matter a short time later.
“The baby has been taken to hospital for checks for superficial injuries and the suspect remains in custody.”
