Patrols aim to crack down on thefts from cars
THEFTS from cars have been identified as the new priority for police working in the Peak District’s picturesque Hope Valley.
Officers from Derbyshire Police said they decided to focus on the issue after it was raised by residents at a meeting on Wednesday, August 21.
The team will be increasing patrols across the area to deter would-be thieves and to catch offenders in the act.

“If there are no valuables in the vehicle then none can be taken out and that’s the message we will be trying to get out there.”
The new priority replaces that of non-dwelling burglaries.
