Body of missing woman found after huge search operation involving helicopter and Humber Rescue

The body of a missing woman was found following a huge search operation across the course of the weekend.

Humberside Police said it was involved in a multi-agency search operation for the missing woman – who has not been named – on Saturday (May 18).

Police, a helicopter and Humber Rescue were all involved in the search for the woman around the Humber Estuary at the weekend.

The woman’s body was found near to New Holland, over the border in North Lincolnshire, on Monday (May 20). Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

A statement from Humberside Police said: “As part of enquiries to locate a missing woman, officers and colleagues from partner agencies carried out searches of the Humber Estuary and surrounding areas on Saturday.

“On Monday, the body of a woman was located near to New Holland in North Lincolnshire which has since been identified as the missing woman. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.

“Her family have been informed, our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
