Police crack down on dog foulers
Kirklees Council and West Yorkshire Police have both pledged to take to the streets of Kirkheaton, near Huddersfield, to tackle the issue.
Sgt Nicola Brown said: “While dog mess on the streets is not normally a police matter, we were concerned by what we heard at the recent Dalton Ward meeting and decided to take some action, working with our partners to hopefully tackle this problem.

“She also visited two homes to speak to people suspected of allowing their dogs to foul the streets. Bag dispensers have also been put up in the affected areas, offering dog walkers no excuses for allowing their dogs to mess up the streets.”
Local residents have also been supporting the work of the police and council, which has been well-received by the community. Sgt Brown added: “The police and our partners will always act on matters that are causing concern in the community.”
