Wards go without water after Leeds hospital flooded

WARDS at St James’s Hospital in Leeds were left without water after a flood in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It left the hospital’s pump room which supplies water to the whole of the hospital site under 5ft of water.

Firefighters pumped out the water and services were restored by 10am today. No patients had to be moved.

The flood was caused by a blocked drain on another part of the site.
