Allica Bank Launches ‘Yorkshire Business is Beautiful’ Photo Competition Supported by The Yorkshire Post to Celebrate Yorkshire’s Local Businesses

Allica Bank has today launched Yorkshire Business is Beautiful, an amateur photo competition created to shine a spotlight on the people, places and everyday moments behind Yorkshire’s established businesses, supported by The Yorkshire Post.
The competition invites Yorkshire’s established businesses - those with between 5 and 250 employees and who are the lifeblood of Yorkshire’s communities and economy - to share behind-the-scenes photographs that capture what they find meaningful, distinctive or inspiring about their business, celebrating the often unseen reality of running a Yorkshire-based business.
Whether it’s the sun rising over a haulier’s fleet of lorries, a row of perfectly poured pints, or sparks flying at a welding plant, Allica is encouraging business owners and their employees to find their inner photographer and showcase what makes their firm special.
To enter the competition, businesses should simply submit a photograph by posting on Facebook, X, LinkedIn or Instagram with the hashtag #YorkshireBusinessIsBeautiful, tagging both Allica Bank and the Yorkshire Post.
Entries will be judged by an esteemed panel, including one of Allica Bank’s Yorkshire relationship managers, Katie Roberts, Deputy Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post, Greg Wright, and local professional photographer Jack Gray.
The winner will receive a professional business photoshoot by Jack and will have their winning photo printed in The Yorkshire Post.

Yorkshire’s 44,400 established businesses are the engine of the local economy, responsible for around a third of employment and playing a vital role in communities across the region.
However, they are often overlooked. This campaign hopes to change that, reflecting Allica Bank’s commitment to giving established businesses across Yorkshire the support and backing they need to grow, invest and boost the Yorkshire economy.
Katie Roberts, relationship manager for Yorkshire, commented: “From Sheffield to York, and from Leeds to Hull, established businesses are the backbone of the Yorkshire economy. Yet so much of what makes them special happens out of sight. I’m incredibly proud of the amazing homegrown businesses we have in Yorkshire, including our world-leading manufacturing, logistics, tourism and hospitality businesses that are the pride of the region.
“Yorkshire Business is Beautiful is about celebrating the real working world behind these established businesses - the people, places and everyday moments that define business life and so often go unnoticed.”

Greg Wright, Deputy Business Editor at the Yorkshire Post, added: “Yorkshire’s established businesses are the heartbeat of our region, but much of what they do goes unseen. The Yorkshire Post is proud to support Allica’s Yorkshire Business is Beautiful campaign and celebrate some of the magic that goes on every day in our local economy.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries and sharing some of these stories with our readers.”
The competition forms part of Allica Bank’s wider mission to support and champion established businesses across the UK, not only through providing them with the banking they deserve but by recognising and celebrating their role in local communities.
