Halifax and Guiseley to meet in FA Cup

Yorkshire’s two premier non-League sides were drawn together in the final qualifying round of the FA Cup.

FC Halifax Town will host Guiseley on Saturday October 24 with the prize at stake being a place in the first round proper.

A year ago, the Shaymen battled through to the first round and landed a plum draw a t home to neighbours Bradford City. Guiseley, meanwhile, crashed out at the fourth qualifying round stage with a 3-0 loss at Grimsby Town.

The Mariners will also face Yorkshire opposition this term after being handed a trip to Harrogate Town, while North Ferriby United must travel to the winners of the replay between Chastown and Stalybridge Celtic.

Bradford Park Avenue face a replay against Salford City on Wednesday night after drawing 1-1 on Saturday at the home of the club bankrolled by a host of former Manchester United stars, the winners being at home to Conference strugglers Southport.
