Hull City v Lincoln City – Tussle with title rivals Imps is well-timed for wounded Tigers
The Tigers would have gone back to the top of the League One standings with a win over the rock-bottom Brewers last time out, but produced a lacklustre performance and were eventually undone by a 90th-minute sucker punch.
Having played more games than both leaders Lincoln and third-placed Doncaster Rovers, this evening’s home showdown with the Imps has become one that Grant McCann’s men really need to avoid losing if they are serious about securing a top-two finish.

“It wasn’t a good performance, we were off it in all departments and to get sucker-punched at the end was a real kick in the teeth,” he said of the defeat at Burton.
“But, we’ve got a really good game here to try and put it right. Obviously it was a big game before, it’s an even bigger game now.
“You couldn’t ask for a better game to come. We’ve probably had it a couple of times throughout the season (under pressure following a poor result) and we’ve reacted quite well each time, so that’s something that we’ve got to keep going with if we are going to be successful this season.
