HERE are the Leeds United player ratings from Tuesday evening's Premier League game against Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Meslier: Had nothing to field in the first half and it was much busier on the restart and the recalled keeper made key saves to thwart Shelvey and Schar in particular. 7

Ayling: Bombed forward when the chance arose, but had to be alert in his defensive duties in the second period, especially when Saint-Maximin came on. 6

Cooper: Had plenty more to think about in the second half as Newcastle gave it a real go, inspired by Almiron. 6

Llorente: In his first league start for Leeds, the Spaniard was afforded desperate fortune. Injured his hamstring early on. n/a

Alioski: Dispossessed Murphy for Leeds' opener and it was a moment he should have been pleased with. Booked on the restart. 6

Phillips: Steady in the engine room and fitted back in seamlessly, even if he was without Klich alongside him. 6

Raphinha: Scored a clinical opener and showed pace, trickery and touches of quality. Majestic pass for Harrison's goal. 8

Dallas: Delivered a lovely early ball for a good chance for Harrison. Shrugged off an injury scare in the first half and moved to left-back when Alioski went off. 7

Rodrigo: Showed real class in the reverse fixture and again found Newcastle to his liking with some sumptuous touches. 8

Harrison: Should have done better with an early chance, but still had Newcastle defenders on the back foot and scored a brilliant strike to put Leeds in the lead - following on from his peach at Elland Road. 8

Bamford: Linked up play nicely and glanced a header wide just before the break. But his casual play was seized upon for Newcastle's leveller. Unceremoniously hauled off shortly after by Bielsa. 6.

Substitutes: Struijk (Llorente 10). Thrown into the deep end at the back and it was an exercise in concentration in the second half as Newcastle pressed. 6

Klich (Alioski 56). Missing from the start for only the second league game under Bielsa, he was called into action early in the second half. 6

Roberts (Bamford 60). Almost got on the end of a cross, but much of his time was spent having his team-mates as Newcastle pressed. 6.

Not used: Poveda, Casilla, Helder Costa, Hernandez, Davis, Shackleton.
