HERE are the Huddersfield Town player ratings from Friday evening’s Championship home game against Cardiff City at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Schofield: Alert early save to block Flint’s close-range effort and made a fine reaction save before the break to keep out Vaulks’s stinging volley which he only saw at the last moment and was solid. 7

Edmonds-Green: Made one mistake to let in Josh Murphy just before the break, but it was a rare blemish. 7

Keogh: Won his fair share of headers and made the most of his recall. Had a good second-half chance. 7

Sarr: Was decisive in his defensive clearances and did well enough against an awkward customer in Kieffer Moore. 7

Rowe: Posted problems to Bagan before he came off injured and had a good night. 7.

J Bacuna: Picked up some nice positions and had Town’s best first-half chance. 7

Vallejo: Held his ground well enough and had a sound night. 7.

O’Brien: The stand-in captain’s commitment was total and showed energy in the middle of the park and set two late great chances. 8

Pipa: Spurned a golden late opportunity. Showed a heavy touch and Phillips saved. 7

Campbell: Dropped deep to try and link play and was another whose commitment was unstinting. But missed a glaring chance in the last ten to win it.. 6

Sanogo: His hold-up work was encouraging. But ultimately the game will be remembered for his penalty miss. 6
