Sheffield United 'open talks' over Nottingham Forest defender previously linked with Leeds United

Sheffield United have reportedly opened talks with Nottingham Forest regarding defender Joe Worrall.

The 27-year-old has spent his entire career on Forest’s books, although his days at the City Ground appear numbered. He was heavily linked with a move to the Blades in January, while Leeds United were also credited with interest.

Forest ended up sanctioning a temporary switch to Turkey, where he ended the 2023/24 season at Besiktas. Now back in England, Worrall appears set for another move.

Defensive reinforcements are thought to be a priority for Wilder having seen his side leak a staggering amount of goals as they fell out of the Premier League.

Worrall boasts a wealth of experience and has a promotion from the Championship on his CV, having helped Forest reach the top flight in 2022. Reports suggested he was close to joining Sheffield United in January, only for the move to fall through.

He has made a total of 226 appearances for Forest, while he has also represented Dagenham & Redbridge and Rangers on loan.
