Former Sheffield United international striker set for Premier League move after difficult time at Marseille

A player who made his name at Sheffield United before moving onto the continent is poised to make a return to the Premier League.

Reports have emerged that Everton have agreed a deal to bring Iliman Ndiaye back to the Premier League on a five-year deal from French Ligue 1 club Marseille

The Blades sold Senegal international Ndiaye for around £20m last summer, with Olympique Marseille depriving the Blades of one of their star assets on their return to the Premier League.

French-born Ndiaye, who the Blades plucked from non-league obscurity with Boreham Wood in 2019, scored 22 goals in 88 appearances for United, including 14 in their promotion-winning 2022/23 season.

However, he has struggled to make an impact at Marseille, scoring just four goals in 46 appearances.
