Bournemouth 0 Sheffield W 0: Wednesday end losing streak with clean sheet
Second-placed Bournemouth missed a penalty and also hit the post midway through the second half as Wednesday held on for a battling point – and their first clean sheet in the league for three months.
Wednesday, playing in a rejigged 4-5-1 formation, had their chances also in a dour match of few genuine opportunities.

Hide AdIsaiah Osbourne had Wednesday’s best chance of the match but from six yards drilled a shot against home goalkeeper Shwan Jalal.
Liam Palmer had a shot tipped over and fit-again Tommy Miller drew a decent save from Jalal.
But Bournemouth will look back on the missed penalty as a turning point in the 54th minute when Michael Symes was adjudged to have been pushed by Reda Johnson.
Nicky Weaver dived the wrong way but Symes’s penalty went wide of the other post.

Chris Sedgwick almost made Bournemouth pay but was denied by Jalal as the travelling Wednesday fans were able to celebrate a well-earned point.
