Highly-rated former Leeds Rhinos youngster Sam Hallas has signed a new contract with Championship side Bradford Bulls.

The talented hooker, 23, was made vice-captain at the start of the season and has agreed a new deal until the end of 2021 as the club pursues its bid for a return to Super League.

Having seen Bradford secure former Man of Steel Danny Brough for next term, Hallas feels confident he is in the right place to further his career.

“I am really pleased to have signed,” said the former England Academy captain, who debutued for hometown Leeds in 2016 before switching clubs the following year,

“It is nice to have that security I can carry on doing what I love at a club I love in Bradford.

“Look at how the club is building; retaining John (Kear) and signing someone like Danny Brough are massive coups and really sets the club’s stall out.”

Head coach Kear said “He adds a lot to the side with his character, enthusiasm and given the new rules being implemented they are ideal for a player of Sam’s ilk.”

The Catalans Dragons forward, 33, had two seasons at Belle Vue before rejoining the Perpignan club and winning the Challenge Cup at Wembley in 2018.
